Lisa Hill leads a local bird walk on Bateman Island on (typically) the first Saturday of each month, September through June.  


Red-breasted MerganserThe January Bird Walk occurs on the second Saturday of the month (when the Christmas Bird Count is scheduled for the first Saturday in Jan.).
 

Location: Three miles SE of Richland, the Bateman Island entry is on a causeway from Wye Park off Columbia Parkway, Hwy. 240.

We meet at 8:00 AM at the Wye Park for a morning birding walk through the island's inland bird habitat and we also observe the surrounding Yakima Delta and Columbia River for waterfowl.

All birders are invited, especially those who wish to expand their birding knowledge by accompanying experienced birders. Average sightings for these walks are 30 to 40 species. For any questions, call Lisa Hill, (509) 943-2244.
